I'm buying a house in the Mesquite Hills area. I have a few questions. Does anybody live there? And is anybody having a problem with their developer?

Mesquite (Hills), New Mexico? If so, it's nothing but mobile homes and dairy farms (and millions of flies in the summer) - not fun.

EL PASO, Texas, June 2007 –Affordable homebuilder, Desert View Homes, announced the commencement of home sales in its’ newest Northeast community, Mesquite Hills.
Desert View Homes will have a total of 108 lots and will offer nine different floor plans in the Mesquite Hills community. The rural Mesquite Hills community is located approximately 4 miles north of McCombs off of Dyer and features beautiful mountain and prairie views.
The company feels confident that the Mesquite Hills community will be a welcomed addition to Northeast and will offer much needed affordable housing opportunities to the area.

I guess this is part of the new development off Dyer Muhnay posted about a while back, just south of the Futureland neighborhood (the neighborhood way out on Dyer that has the streets whose names all start with "O'"--O'Donnell, O'Malley, O'Hara, O'Toole, etc.)

I haven't heard anything bad about it.

No.. I have looked at the place a few times, and almost bought a house there, but why pay El Paso property tax on a 250K house, when the one I have now is much less.. and paid for. It looks like a great community, and they have plans for a walking track all the way around the property as well as a nice community park.

Default Mesquite Hills

Mesquite Hills is on Dyer, 1 mile before the intersection of Railroad and Dyer. And the homes there range from 180k to 100k.

Starting at 100K.. but they go all the way up to 275K.. I know because I almost bought a house there. the area is across from the sewage treatment plant and just before all the streets start with O' like O'Mally, O'Rouke, and so on.. where Underwood Stables used to be. Another hint is the place that has the really old Sheriff car on the pole. I even posted a google map of the area in another thread here telling 6/3 where the new houses are being built.

Google Maps

See where the 54 is between the two DYER Streets thats about where it is.. in that whole area.. its a really nice area. they are building a nice walking track all around the community and have a park in the center of it all. You can get the same house for less than what they are selling for on the WEST or EAST side.. same builders same floor plans.

The Mesquite Hills neighborhood is on Google Street View now--well, you can see it when you view the 11800 and 11900 blocks of Dyer.

I see two streets going west off Dyer into that neighborhood, one (I think) off the 11800 block of Dyer, the other about a block north. Anybody want to satisfy my curiosity and tell me what they're called? I'm having a lot of trouble reading the street signs.
