Thanks for the heads up on this good news, 6/3. I've noticed there were not many good name brand hotels in the area off I-10 at least. Good to see the big chains coming in. There are more traveling tourists than you might imagine. With the price of jet fuel, more and more people will be traveling by car, even though gasoline is expensive, it's not as expensive as flying is now.

Well having Basic Training at McGregor Range also would fuel the build up.. but wait were not disclosing that basic Training is headed to Bliss are we? Why they insist on keeping that a secret I don't know.

Seems a little excessive, not sure that we can sustain that many hotels in this area, it's not like El Paso is a tourist mecca.

Well I guess it is now according to google maps.. Castner Range was the area there between Woodrowbean Trans Mountain and Diana. There where the Skyline Optimist Park and the Girl Scout thing is.. there used to be Castner Park there.. it was military held. Google is now showing the area between Hondo Pass and Diana as Castner Range area.. But I think thats wrong.

I see they are calling the Devils Triangle, Del Norte Acres now.

I guess if they were to build one it would be closer to Trans Mountain.. Like Across from the Flag memorial park on the corner of Diana and US 54. Or some where on Kenworthy between Diana and Transmountain.

I saw something on the city of El Paso's website where this hotel's construction was approved by City Council (the developers needed a zoning change); it's at Hondo Pass Avenue and Ankerson Street on the northern edge of Angel's Triangle (aka Devil's Triangle, aka Del Norte Acres). Not too far off the Patriot Freeway.

There are tons and tons of quality chain hotels from east El Paso through at least downtown. They pick up again at Sunland Park going west though.

I'll see if I can find out about the downtown hotel as soon as I can, as I'm also curious. But I can tell you that U.S. 54 (Gateway N and S) is getting their first hotels, with two of them around Hondo Pass.
