let's make sure no one can afford to live here and drive all the businesses out of town, that's a sure way to make sure to keep the anglos out and keep the city pure.

If that is your goal.. its working. But really what a statement, I have to commend you for being honest. Wonder if it will be left or deleted, because of the picture it paints about Hispanics.

please know i have nothing against hispanics, my daughter is half cuban (but still ostracized here by her classmates for not being spanish enough). but in el paso more than being hispanic i find it is keeping out outsiders, which here, means anglo. el paso wants to keep el paso exactly as it is with no changes and that means hispanic. i hope you see what i mean.

There has to be a tipping point at sometime. Here in ATX the Hippies wanted to keep ATX as it was in the 60's and 70's. Somehow they lost that battle and now Big Corporations are all over. The infracstructure has not been able to keep up with the influx of transplants from CA and all over.

ELP has to raise up a new generation of council members that are not stupid and corrupt. What it boils down to it is voting the right people in office.

The tax increase on a $100,000 house is $3; that averages to .25 per month. while I agree we need to raise a new generation of elected officials, we need to educate the voters and population...big time.

We are lucky we have Ms. Wilson at the helm....very.....

I agree with you. My daughter was also ostracized by her classmates. In Tippin Elem. there were only two anglo girls in her class, the other EP born and raised. The girls in her class would not accept my daughter. We lasted a year July 2007 to July 2008.

Wish I had a do-over.
