Default Wall Street Journal Article on El Paso

There has been some mention on City Data about the article and video that came out about El Paso but not as much as I would have thought considering the positive impact it will have on the city. I have been told that it has already turned heads and finally put El Paso right where it should be..in the driver's seat.

The economic impact of the medical school, BrAC, trade, downtown redevelopment is now showing the effects. This will be the catalyst that will create the econommic stimulus that we have been wanting and working hard for some time.

It appears the Chamber and REDCO are getting a lot of calls and all are positive. This city is poised for some great growth as we gear up for the 21st century.

Somehow I am still skeptical that El Paso will make it.

Too many players with money and a lot of money from the feds and state have sealed El Paso's future. It will be a great one and will supercede the 100 years it was leader in this region.

It is a great time to be in El Paso!

I am with your wildestdude.. I don't see it either. Its great to think positively. And Hope for the best, and I try.. But the realist side of me, knows better. I hope Miner72 is right and I am proven wrong... but I don't think I will be... and that will be the thing that haunts him till his dieing days that I was right all along.

I respectfully disagree. El Paso is going to rock and the signs are already showing. Too bad you guys can't see that part but that is okay. Doubting Thomases have been around for a long time... Seeing is believing.. For me and many others, we already believe!

That was a great article and video and I do believe that it is going to get better for our downtown and the city as a whole. The private investors currently investing in downtown El Paso are not kidding around when they talk about seeing a brighter future for downtown and they are putting their money where their mouths are by buying up chunks of downtown buildings and properties.

I don't blame a lot of the folks that believe that nothing will change. This city has disappointed many people in the past with empty promises..so I can understand them. But with so much change coming up in the near future for El Paso..I am one of those who do think that this city will rise once again.

BTW, has anyone seen how the new doubletree hotel is looking lately in downtown? It is starting to look really nice from the westside of the building.
