Default Utility costs in El Paso

My husband and I (& our cat) will relocate to El Paso in May due to my husband's job. He wants to know how much utilities cost in El Paso. So far, through the Internet search, I have not found any statistics for the actual utility costs, such as "Average utility cost for 3 bedroom 2 bath home in El Paso in 2007 was $xxx". I have found the "cost of living" and house sale price range, and the rates for each utility service. But no luck on finding the approximate cost to cover utility bills each month.

Does anyone know where I can find that kind of information???

For a 2100 sq foot house, I pay $60 to $70 for electricity, it's lower in the summer when there's more daylight and the heater doesn't run. I have a gas water heater and gas stove. Thats with a 5 or 6 person household.

Default Utility Bills

Thank you for answering my question regarding utility bills in El Paso! My husband somehow suspected electricity costs more in El Paso. He thinks he is right based on your responses. Thanks again!

El Paso has one of the highest electric rates in the nation; I wonder if the electric company is still paying for their big blunder back in the 70s when they went in on a bad deal to build the Palo Verde nuclear plant. It cost customers dearly as they had to raise their rates to pay for their mistakes; the thing is, everyone knows once a rate goes up, rarely, if ever, does it come down.

If you do not know anything about my city..El Paso..do what I do before I go to Japan every year..go to your local library and the internet..there are tons of information on my beloved El Paso and Japan...I am still reading about it and want to learn as much as I can before I take that biyearly trip to Japan..and my mother still has that precious picture that shows my great-grandmother at 10 years old crossing the river from Chihuahua with her mother..my great-great grandmother to make El Paso their home..the year was 1878...my family is still there!
