I went to see Todd Rundgren & Utopia at the Plaza Theater in 1977; they performed their new album then, called RA. Lots of pot smoking in the audience I recall!

Thanks for the link El Borracho.

The last that I recall was seeing the first run hit called "How the West was Won" ...sometime in the 70's.

Happy to read the news about the Plaza Theater.

What a great idea!! Renovate a historic theatre & have a classic movie marathon, I would have liked to drive down & check it out. They really promoted this event as I heard several radio spots down here in ABQ.

Yes it is a very nice place to go. We went to see Dave Koz there in June. They have done a really good job restoring it. I saw "Blazing Saddles" at the Plaza when I was a kid.

I've only been in El Paso for two weeks and this was my first night out and I was impressed. I grew up in Los Angeles and I think the palace was better than the famed mann chinesse theater. Looking forward to future events there.

I remember that my father used to take me to the Plaza Theater when I was a kid..and we watched all kinds of films there like James Bond. There used to be a bald man who would play the organ at about half way through the film..whatever happeenedto the organ..I loved the clouds, the red seats, and the stars shining above..I wonder what it looks like since it has been remodeled...maybe I can go see it when I go home for Christmas!
