Ahh, yes. I recall it. Thanks for the reference, Muhnay. I used to go to the mountains just north east of the lake, in fact, it was not that far at all. We used to collect loose slate type rock for my uncle's home in El Paso... he built a facade with those rocks on the front of his house. There used to be mountain lions up around those mountains back in the mid to late 70s.

Mountain Shadow's was the place to go to back in the 80's as i even remember EP mayor Jon Rogers used to go out there every 4th of July celebration and party with El Pasoans back then and also i can still remember the Mountain Shadow billboard signs before the Horizon City exit along I-10 back then also.

who thought of this? who decided to make "mountain shadow lakes" that was a brilliant idea, its very sad that instead of adding entertainment options, we keep taking them off, western playland, mountain shadow, majic landing...etc etc...

Yep, I remember going there as a kid, then later as a teenager to go target shooting near by. I think the lake basically dried up since they were losing water faster then they could replenish it.

I also recall that there was a fatal plane crash during an areal acrobatic demonstration.
