Since i like the women i'll post for them but i'm impressed as with starting 2 freshman and a sophmore they are now tied for first as they beat Southern Miss 105-87 yesterday as that's great for a team with just 1 senior on the entire team.

CON USA Women
UTEP ...............10-4
Southern Miss ...10-4
Houston ............9-4
Smu .................9-4
UCF .................9-5
Tulane ..............8-6
East Carolina .....6-7
Marshall ............6-7
UAB .................5-8
Memphis ...........4-9
Rice .................2-11

Very disappointing - we were at home and lost. Many said that Calipari didn't want to run up the score on Barbie who has been friends with him since age 15. Had he run up the score, people might be clamoring for Barbie's removal as well.

UTEP should be in the top 65 each year and go to the NCAA tourney. We are the only 4 yr college in our city, whereas most cities our size have several area teams. NMSU isn't far but its out of state and no big attraction. We also have a history of being good -perhaps the best team in the state from the late 60s - mid 70s ( Houston had good years too) UT came and put money into the sport that we can't match- I don't think we are even one of the top 5 in Texas.

I doubt Memphis scaled back or anything like that. They only briefly had a ten point lead and usually only lead by 5. UTEP is far too dangerous to try and purposely keep it under a 10 point lead. The last minute of play showed that.

I have to work tomorrow night and I wont be able to go. I am disappointed that I will be missing senior night. Hopefully the Miners make into the NIT and host a game or two.
