Default Land value in Horizon City

We have been approached about selling our 5 acres in Horizon City. Is there a way to find out if there is a potential building project going on in our area?

I also have been approached about selling an undeveloped Lot in Horizon City and have the same question? Is there a new building project about to start in Horizon City?

where are your lots located? I haven't heard of any major project. The biggest going on right now is Eastlake High School, but that is already under way. Who is approaching you?

My lot is at 367 Horizon City #50, Lot 1. I was about to get in the shower when the gentlemen with the offer called so I did not put any information on paper, but I believe he said his name is Eichorn (I am not sure of the spelling.) He said he would call me back this afternoon. I saw the property in September, 2007, and nothing was going on then so I was surprised to get an offer. The land was barren.

The nearest building is a little Tex/Mex restaurant about a I/2 to 3/4 mile away.

In the El Paso Times today there was an article about how the Horizon City area was growing.

Default smart growth

The last master plan set up areas, but Horizon Blvd still looks pretty ratty. If done correctly Horizon City could be a model to even El Paso, but there are some parts of this town that already look extremely blighted and run down. I wonder when people will realize that strip centers really detract from an area (especially when there is less than 50% occupancy). Hopefully Mr. Coleman the city planner will listen to community and not become a tool of the developers like El Paso has become.

My husband's grandfather bought lots in Horizon City back in 1982. A few years later he sold us the lots. We have not received a tax statement since 1997. At that time the amount due as $0.43! I just went online and checked to see if we owe any taxes on this land. We owe nothing and the land value is listed at $15.00. The property location is 902 Horizon City #103 Lots 9 to 11. If anyone has any information on exactly where these are located, a map, or how close they are to developed property I would sure like to know.

Whether 5 acre parcels have market value depends on where the parcels are located. There are many, many 5 acre parcels in the Horizon City, Texas area which is in El Paso County.
