We got too busy to try to track pasteles down Katita (we had too much family fly in for visits during the Christmas holidays). I need to go find some as a treat for my Husband at least by Easter because we are moving away from EP in Late May/Early June.

I'll cook everything but the pasteles. Good grief they are too much work for one person! (even 2 people!)

Hello to all!
I'm new to El Paso but have recently met a great Boricua who makes pasteles and sells them for about $20.00 a dozen. If you are still looking to buy some perhaps I can share her contact information.

We all have our opinions, I personally prefer Puerto Rican food. Mexican food is nasty.... Dry ass rice, and all they make tortillas... Rican food has flavour, Mexican food is just spicy... So I choose Rican food is top notch.

Rican food is better. Mexican food has no flavour.... Mexican food is just sixty spicy, that's it, I lived in south Texas for close to a year... The Mexican rice is dry ! Yuk! Takes a gallon of water to get that down'I prefer Rican food.

Msoler, seems like you are just trolling to make some arguments. I went back and read your previous posts and you said Mexican food was great. Now you say it's "YUK"?

Please move to another forum and try to fight about getting all the Dominicans out of your lovely PR. All you do is contradict yourself.

Mexican food is actually great. Depends on where you eat it and what style you like. It can go from spicy to mild. Each region of Mexico has it's own style of cooking food by using what is in their region. I have never tasted PuertoRican food so I really can't make a case for or against it, but I am pretty sure it has its good and bad.

An Argentinian restaurant is opening at Thorn/Bartlett. Hopefully it's better than the Mexican restaurant it's replacing - I suspect they just microwaved Sams Club food.

I haven't tried this place yet myself but it seems everyone I know has -- and they all say it's great. It's Caribbean food - so I think that would also be Puerto Rican food. I did have a piece of the Cuban sandwich and it was very good - it's in Canutillo, near that Outlet Mall, it's called Maracas.
