Moving and have more questions about apartment complexes and outlet furniture stores.
Alright, so I plan on visiting El Paso this coming weekend and am trying to find an apartment to rent in the 79912 zip code. I have looked at several apartment websites, but seem to be stuck in a rut! About half of the apartments that I look into have evaporative cooling (no good for me) and when I call the 'luxury' apartments, they don't answer and I get their answering machines (worries me.. what if i have an emergency and cant get ahold of them). I have also looked on craiglist, but am coming up with nothing.
Can anyone give me any suggestions as to what I should do?
Also, does anyone have any experience with the following apartment complexes: Indian Springs, The Village, Caprock, or Kings Hill?
One more thing, are there any good outlet furniture stores in the El Paso area that you would recommend?

I would not let evaporative air conditioning be a deal breaker. It really is the norm here. I read your other post regarding this and I still prefer refrigerated but evaporative is not bad at all.

We just purchased a house in the area but my husband has been renting a small one bedroom. He rented it so he wouldn't have to stay in a hotel until we sold out house in NE. It is called Acacia hills, it is in 79912 zip code. I wouldn't call it luxury, but there were able to have it furnished and we could do a short term lease. (even though we had to pay more for the short lease.) Hope that helps.

Does anyone know of any good and inexpensive furniture stores? I'm in El Paso now and have nothing but my tv in the living area.

Room Store, but if you want cheap you're going to get what you pay for. IMO!

The only complexes I know folks are at are Colinas del Sol (near Sunland Park Mall), Ryan's Crossing and Ryan's Mill (both off of Mesa Hills, going towards Sunland Park Mall). Colinas looks pretty nice.

^ Well I looked at Colinas del Sol and almost got an apartment there, but I ended up getting one at The Pointe.. up Festival and Mesa St.
Now, I must ask how do you meet people around here? I'm trying to stay away from people I work with as I don't think it's a good idea for me to go out with them. The people at my apartments are very cold and only smile when I say hello and they seem to be much older than me (I'm 23). I dont want to creep people out and I really shouldnt meet women (my gf would be furious but that's a different story lol).

Someone should have warned you about that aspect of El Paso. It's not really the friendliest city, apartments are especially bad here that way.
My advice would be to think of something you like and join a group. For example if you like riding bicycles, motorcycles, horses -- there are groups of people who do that kind of thing and they have a lot of fun. Churches are an obvious one but not everyone is into that. Or, you might have to break down and socialize with co-workers, that's almost all most people here do.

Are you looking for real budget but okay furniture that you might need to restore? You could try the second hand places, if you just want furniture, sometimes you can get okay furniture in those, or the garage sales.
There are plenty of shops up and down Doniphan for used items, including furniture. They have some shops that get things from estate sales, if you like that kind of thing. They're fun enough to look through anyhow because they have lots of unique things, some things very old and interesting.
