Makes two of us. I'm glad everyone took the time to post these pics. It gives those who've never had the opportunity to visit Juarez a more accurate perspective, and shows that despite all that is going on, there are good things happening too.
I've been going there for 30 years now, and have no intention of stopping. My dentist is there, and I've been her patient for a decade now, and God willing, will be for another decade. We still go to dinner and shop in Juarez. I look at it this way....I have nothing the cartels want, and they have nothing I want. If I've ever crossed paths with them, I wasn't aware of it. Could I get caught in the crossfire and be killed? Of course....but that can happen right here too.
In March of 1991 I was working at the El Paso airport and watched a man shoot his ex-wife and then turn the gun on himself. I was no more than 100' away. A guy I work with took a stray round in the kneecap. Fate is the hunter....it can happen anywhere. Nowhere is perfectly safe.
And I've still gotta know....if nobody is going to Juarez any more, why does it still take me an hour and 15 minutes to get back over the puente libre?
Keep posting the photos folks.....I'm really enjoying them.
