What I like about Taco Tote is that you can eat there without having your cholesterol go up 30 points. Most Mexican food (in the USA, not Mexico that is) is loaded with lard but you can find healthy meals at Taco Tote. Even the beans are just cooked, not mixed with half lard.

i grew up eating taco tote as a kid in juarez and later when they built the one on montana close to where i used to live. i live in deep south texas (near mcallen) now and have to drive 3 hours to laredo to go to taco tote. they used to have one in brownsville but it did not make it. i hope they build one in corpus christi soon.

Default Photos of Houston restaurant...

I went to Taco Tote for lunch today and took some photos on my Blackberry, not the highest quality. I did not know TT had bars in them, this one has a small one that is connected to an outside patio. They have $5.00 combo menus on Tuesdays, and kids eat free on Thursday.

My relatives tell me that Taco Tote is expensive in Juarez - 3 tacos for $10.
I prefer Pollo Loco next door (Hermanos Escobar/Americas) , its more affordable, esp. on 2 for 1 Tuesdays.

I have been to this one many times now. At least all the ones I have been to el paso do not have bars, but they do sell beer only. Maybe they are trying to make it more upscale for the Houston market?? who knows.
