I've been to a Tacotote in El Paso, and I noticed the other day that there is a place opening up in Houston with the same name. I was wondering if they were an El Paso business, and if they in fact have been expanding to other cities? The one opening up in Houston is in a fancy part of town, and expensive shopping area. Just curious.

Yes! El Tacotote is a chain of restaurants headquartered here in El Paso with about 21 total restaurants and expanding with about 13 restaurants troughtout Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and 8 restaurants in 3 northern Mexican states. Here is their site.

Their old website used to have a very nice commercial in both English and Spanish.

Default Cool.

You can add Houston to that list then. It is being built right now. I had to do a double take when I saw that and told my friends about it. 'Good thing is that it is near the office. Now if Chicos would only expand!

Default A Juarez enterprise...

I did some research and just thought you might want to know, Taco Tote is based in Juarez. Also, they will be opening 10 restaurants in Houston within the next five years, two are opening soon.

Oh my. Here we go again. Each Chicos is managed by a member of the Mora family. That person lives close by in proximity to each location. In order to expand outside of ELP then somebody has to move to that city. The Mora's cannot see past the city limits so expansion is an idea that is not going to happen.

Alot of people dont know that the very first Taco Tote was built in Juarez then moved out to ELP. San Antonio has one too.
