Most agree El Paso won't be hit by the recession as badly as the places that have boomed. One estimate had ELP real estate declining by at 1% this year another
Texas Housing, Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso
which I have found to be quite accurate in the past and done by independant research predicts a decline on 5.9% in ELP.

Certain areas will do better -most likely the Ft Bliss Northeast area due to military expansion. There seems to be some growth in the far east areas.

Does anyone have predictions for the Sunset Heights -Arizona-Rio Grande areas near downtown? I always liked those neighborhoods which are primarily Hispanic and not favored by military but which do have college students.

Does anyone have any real data on the different areas?

trulia.com and zillow.com are good sources for housing info.

This trulia link shows El Paso price trends by area.

Thanks Gary

Trulia is ok but its also a shill for Realty Trac and in areas of high foreclosures the listings are full of houses with no addresses "subscribe to realty trac". El Paso isn't as affected.

IT did list the area of El Paso High as declining but nothing for Sunset and UTEP. I think appreciation will be most likely near and north of Ft Bliss but also some upper scale east and west areas.
