Levow

Hey there! When I was down there visiting after Christmas, my husband and I went to the mall on the west side and at the deli/specialty market place, they had chocolate covered strawberries, and they looked AWESOME! I would also check out The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Thats in the Outlets on the west side as well, but I know that they said they would be moving into the eastside mall sometime soon. Enjoy!

The Ft Bliss Bazaar, the first weekend of March, Las Cruces Candy Co, has them every year. They also have them at the Farmer's and Craft Market each Saturday in Las Cruces if you are nearby.

Levow brotherman..... go into a reputable grocery store and check their fruit counter and you should be able to find some good strawberries. Then go over to a mall, look for a candy shop (Sees Chocolates, for instance), buy some good chocolate that will melt on a fondue and MAKE YOUR OWN. Bro, you're making us guys look like we're not creative or be able to do anything on our own. Just pulling your chain with the last sentence. But honestly that's what a lot of us do out here. Specially when we see the pickup trucks selling Oxnard strawberries. Oxnard, CA might very well be the capital for strawberry growing. Anyway, try making them and you'll have a great time once you're done. You'll feel proud of making them and now enjoying them. Also, you can buy white chocolate and try that too. Last but not least....for Valentines Day, make them, serve them to your lady with some Champagne and you'll make points with your lady. (HINT: with Champagne in a flute, drop a plain strawberry and leave it there until you both finish the bottle. Afterwards take the strawberries, deep them in chocolate, and ENJOY!!!! They will be full of Champagne).

I agree with most of what you've said here, but trust me from experience... don't buy chocolate for this. What you want is Almond Bark, which looks like chocolate and is much easier to work with for dipping things into it. Almond bark can be melted in the microwave. Good chocolate has to be mixed with oil and melted in a double-boiler.

Any grocery store that has a good Baking section will carry almond bark.
