Hey all! I will be moving now VERY soon, probably within the next few weeks, a month at the ABSOLUTE most. I was talking to a girl here in Rapid City that told me that we need to get a bug guy to spray inside and out on the same day to keep fleas from getting in. She is from Dallas and I know it is totally diff. weather wise, so is this really true? We do have a dog and she said we would need to get him "dipped" like twice during the summer. Any advice would be helpful. Also, are there any nice kids parks on the west side near the outlet mall part of town?

Moved here a little over yr ago, live on the westside. No problem whatso ever with fleas. I dont know about the parks. Mosquitoes might be a problem so make sure they take heart worm pills and it is mandatory for microchipping pets.

I haven't had any problems with fleas.
I know that there is a pretty neat community park off of Doniphan for kids.

I've lived here 40 years, have always owned pets, and fleas are not a problem here. We don't have enough humidity to support them. Dallas does....We don't even use any pesticides, in or out, and still don't have any pest problems.

Mixchix.....
If any problems with fleas it would be with a cat. Dogs rarely get fleas. However unless the house you're moving into is brand new and no one lived there before as a precaution I would have the inside and outside sprayed. You never know who lived there before you, specially if they had cats. Again, this would be as a "precaution".

No fleas in my westside neck of the woods. Nationally though, bedbugs are a problem.

I've never had an encounter with a bedbug in all my years here.
