There are alot of churches. Practically a Catholic church on every street corner (like the 7 Elevens).

There are brushes and trees that hardly need any water. There is already landscaping with those types over areas of I-10 already, so water is not really a concern there. It's just a matter of deciding to do it.

It's already in the plans 6 FOOT. Txdot has plans to build a couple of overpasses over Kenworthy and McCombs to extend US-54 all the way to New Mexico. It is scheduled to start in about 3 years.

Ban on gates???? Sorry.....but I like my gate. I like my kids and pets to be able to play in the front yard and be seperated from the street. Especially with how some people drive in residential areas. As long as they look nice, I don't see why anyone should have a quarrel with them.

I agree with Smooth.....I don't see a lack of churches here.

I would like to see an IKEA. Sorry....I'm just not one of those people who can afford Nordstrom.

But I like the idea of an area like Texan mentioned. Albq has them and they are pretty cool.

I'd like to have a Rain Forest Cafe. (The food is not fabulous but the atmosphere is cool)
And bring back the gooney golf.

How about a colossal Schlitterbahn-type water park - how awesome would that be ? Could do a brisk business in the summer mos.

In 3 years o.k.....as the last overpass over McCombs would really make it a freeway feel on the northern edge of EP.

Gates can look tacky at times though... I guess it can be done right in some cases. There were a few Mexicans who moved into the neighborhood I grew up in a few years ago that started propping up gates and the neighborhood threw a fit, so they took it to city hall and now there's a ban on gates.. only homes with "X" amount of land can have them. Also, children should play in backyards and in parks to keep them safe.

My first thought when I moved here when I saw (what I think of) solid middle class homes surrounded by gates was, "Is it dangerous here?" lmao

whitegiant is on a distinguished road
I wonder if El Paso could support a huge resort. If it could it could make its economy more about tourism instead of just on military. If you build a man made lake and put a nice big resort on it. It could cater to the people who want to have the hot summers and people who want water recreational activities. And the Northeast needs more things they are the only side of town that has nothing and people wonder why no one wants to live in that side of town. And a Six Flags would probably do good except for the fact that they may go bankrupt, but if not then it would work. All in all El Paso is not a bad town every town has its problems El Paso just seems to have theres pointed out more often then the others.
