Alot of guys state that ELP has great strip clubs. They love to visit but that is all they do there. I try to push the other great things about ELP. But unfortunately this drug war thing has really dampened my efforts to promote ELP.

At work people think there is nothing but tumbleweeds and dirt out there. Some have not gone further west then San Antonio.

El Paso doesn't seem to be anyone's idea of a tourist destination--not anyone I've talked to, anyway.

I don't understand why people are either self-conscious about the image of El Paso and/or think it should be aggressively marketed so everybody and their brother should want to come here. If you like the desert, AZ, NV or CA are more scenic. I like it just the way it is, for all the bad, and all the good; and if El Paso keeps growing from all these developers, I guarantee the quality of life will deteriorate. It's already on the way.

I love the seguero cactus that AZ has.

Im not self conscious about the image of E P nor do I think it should be aggressively marketed so that people and their brothers want to move here ~ I just think its sad that El Paso has such a bad rap based on what people see driving through town. And its NOT because el paso is a desert. You already know your in the desert way before you reach El Paso ~ but there is something..........about el paso when you drive through that could be improved upon. There is nothing wrong with presenting your self (city) the best you can ~ and show that you care about yourself.

Have you ever driven down a street where most of the houses have yards that obviously need mowing, maybe some trash strewn about, just generally makes the house look sad and old? Then the next house, same style, but you can tell that someone has taken the time to mow the yard, water the grass, pull some weeds and the pride just shows through?

I love the saguaro cactus too from AZ ~ pretty cool :-)

Well..when I lived in Yorktown, Virginia..a Navy wife once commented..that people eat armadillos here and wear western clothes..I said..I am from EP..I have never seen an armadillo and I hate western clothes and country music..but of course..most of the people that think bad of my beloved hometown...probably have never even been here
