Don't forget the Neighborhood Markets.

also, Big 8 has good deals on fruits and vegetables. So do the farmer's markets.
What is the difference between a 'neighborhood market' and regular "walmart?"

Walmart? Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded.

The Walmart on the east side near Transmountain road has got to be one of the rowdiest...er, busiest. Also that Golden Corral is one of the wildest...ah, busiest too.

closest walmart for you will be the one on Zaragosa/Montana, you buying a house in Horizon still? I just got here 17 March house in escrow in horizon too. My in laws have lived here most their life thats why I'm retiring here and their shopping goes like this. Most groceries from the commissary, meat and some produce from sams. Best looking produce IMO is Albertsons and big 8 isn't bad either. Produce at the commissary sux and meat isn't great either. Plus you don't pay sales tax on food off post but at commissary 10%surcharge. With your dependent ID card you can use anything Fort Bliss has to offer. Coming here ahead of your husband? Man that really stinks greatly, I couldn't imaging my wife showing up to another state alone with all the responsibility, not that she couldn't handle it, it would just suck!

I'm still at my in laws house on the east side waiting for my house to finish escrow, will be closing in the next 2 weeks if everything goes well. My house is in one of the new neighborhoods off of horizon blvd. Horizon has been around for quite awhile but nothing really out there so gonna have to drive to east side to shop etc. I seen a grocery store there but didnt check it out. Its gonna take your husband about 40 minutes to get to Bliss, I timed it : D
