Well, as of this morning, it appears that there has been two confirmed cases of Swine Flu in EL Paso. I know one is at Thomason and the other from a local doctor. I'm not sure where these pts are coming from though.

yes, its scary, but im still confused. There are people that die each die each year from the flu ~ what exactly is more "dangerous" about the swine flu? Im wondering about my long international flight to el paso ~ being on a plane and for so long. Wondering if the kids and I should wear masks...................

I couldn't find this on any local news web sites. The Times is also now saying no reported cases in Juarez.

Thomason confirmed one case this morning. Dr. Lopez called in a confirmation this morning also. EPISD is currently in talks about closing schools but I can't really see that happening.

I know the Times is still denying but the big wigs at Thomason confirmed the case and set the hospital staff on alert.

I'm not sure if the tests have been completed entirely by the health officials but according to Thomason, they are treating at least one person with Swine Flu. I don't know if the person is from here or from Mexico. And now high school sports are being cancelled. Tamiflu is pretty much on shortage and hand sanitizers are going fast. I don't know if this is all hype or if it really is a serious threat. But for the safety of my kids, I'm taking extra precautions. Better safe than sorry, me thinks.
