Language proficiency is part of CITIZENSHIP requirements, but not of other immigration visas (read: temporary visas). Many of the people who speak Spanish are either recent immigrants, temporary immigrants, or illegal immigrants who cross over to work in housework, etc. Hearing Spanish around a BORDER CITY shouldn't be taken to make generalizations about the patriotism of its citizens. One shouldn't confuse monolinguism or a piece of fabric hanging over someone's door as patriotism.

I think that is very debatable. I spend a lot of time in the NE and it is not strictly the military people who are patriotic.
Besides just saying it, what makes you think people here aren't? I haven't agreed with everyone in this thread but most at least backed up their claims.

See, I believe that being loud and outward about it is not a requirement for patriotism. I don't need to hang up some piece of fabric on my car so that you will all know how much I love this country. I can speak two languages and that doesn't take away from patriotism, either. Just because you THINK people are not patriotic because they don't act in some cookie-cutter way doesn't mean they aren't.
