Default Housing outside of Ft. Bliss??

Hello!

My daughter is moving to El Paso on temporary duty with Ft. Bliss and is looking for temporary and SAFE housing.

From these threads, I understand the Westside is the safest place to live in the city, but can anyone give me some insight into the areas directly outside of Ft. Bliss (particulary by Morehead Ave.)? She is looking at a studio off of Morehead Ave (all the way to the west of the street).

Any insight would be great!

Thanks.

This is not going to be a popular post but I will say it anyway. The area immediately outside of Ft Bliss is probably considered the least safe in the city. Doesn't make it crime ridden or anything - just the least safe in the city. It isn't long time native El Pasoans that cause the problems in that area. I will leave it at that.

Is she eligible for the BOQ, even if civilian ? I dont know much about the area around FT Bliss but if she decided to stay on the Westside, there are many nice partments/condos with short term arrangements. My son is stationed at FT Bliss and commutes daily, depending on the commuting period, you can be there in 20-30 minutes.

luplor--- I don't believe she is eligible for BOQ.

From our research, we are definitely fans of the westside of town as well. If you don't mind me asking, where does your son live? Is it furnished? The commute itself doesn't bother me as she'll have her own car.

Thanks for the help!
