Are more people living east of El Paso or what?
When I first bought my land east of El Paso out by Dell City, there were hardly any people out there and land was for sale everywhere. I recently went back (May '09) to visit and I noticed houses and trailers dotted the landscape everywhere out by Dell City and Cornudas. Has it really changed that much? I didnt see a lot of people but am wondering if there are really that many people out there now. Maybe the quiet little place I once envisioned will be the suburubs of El Paso by time I retire - (4 more years - sighs).
Any one care to comment?

79936 is in the east side. 79938 is the far east side.

Dell City is about 80 miles minimum from El Paso, and Del City still looks like a waste land.

Yup not a whole lot of people but last time I went out there, there were quite a few houses/trailers here and there (as you said). I remember there being a collection of houses near the border patrol checkpoint specifically...I know the land near Dell City is selling like hotcakes though...$200 bucks an acre ain't bad.

Yes, of course it is the largest growing area. The rest of the city is pretty much already developed. It depends on the part, of course. Some areas are not good at all and have low property values for a reason. If you go house shopping, do the usual checks. Don't just check the neighborhood in isolated instances. Go there first and hang out at various times, day and night. 79936 used to be a not bad place 10-20 years ago, now I don't really care for it. 79938, varies.

Anything east of Zaragosa on Montana is kinda ghetto. I remember looking at a nice house for 160k when I first got here. I went to look at it and I wouldn't go on a walk during the day. And worse, across the street was a trailer and the other houses were hideous.
I live in the 79938 in a new neighborhood. There's some really expensive homes. Where they work in El Paso to make that kind of money I have no clue.
