Nonetheless, You do not lose to anyone 64-7, even if it is #2 in the country. It is time to let go of Mike Price. It really is. UTEP is basically a laughing stock school

As a side follower of UTEP football over the last several years, I have to concur.
Those 8-4 seasons with Jordan Palmer at the helm seem like they were eons ago.
How does a punter NOT know how to lob the ball out of the back of the endzone when a snap flies over his head???
This is the stuff we here at UH dealt with repeatedly with Art Briles at the helm...eventually, one should have enough of the dumb mistakes, no? Yes. Sandbox football has to stop.
But, that's the price of getting a visit from Texas last season. You all know that. Hopefully, it's not some 2 or 3 for 1 deal.

From the ELP Times this morning:
UT Austin's coach, Mack Brown, said at a news conference that he hated to beat the El Paso team so badly and that he respected UTEP coach Mike Price.
The game lacked the heckling and confrontations of many others.
Fans of both teams mingled before the game, and on the way out there was very little ridicule.
Some fans said that it was because of the family connections and Texas ties the two universities share.
Karen Robles, who enjoyed the game despite the loss, said another reason existed for the overall civility from Austin fans. "They know they are good and they know we know they are good," she said. "They don't have to tell us."
Congrats ELP! Thanks for being good sports. Thank you Longhorn fans for not shoving it down our throats.

Yes, but a better experience is acrtually going to a bowl game and having a better season than 5-7 or 4-8.

Yeah Mike Price needs to go. He hasn't done anything with UTEP. Too bad for all of you Price lovers!

Not sure about that. I might argue that making some tiny bowl game may actually be less excitement for the players than participating in a televised regular-season game against a top 5 opponent in a 100K+ seat stadium.
Regardless, playing 1 or 2 tough opponents in a season isn't going to prevent UTEP from going to a bowl... It's how you play the other 9 or so teams. Plus, your athletic department can make a ton of $$$ from games against the big guys -- money they might not get from their alumni, even if they were winning.

I dont kniow about that, as some1 who has gone to a bowl game with a football team and played a nationally ranked team at their house, I'd take the bowl game any day.

Just makes no sense to me at all. And especially in light of the fact that this year it isn't even considered a "pre-season warm-up" game for Texas!

This was utterly embarassing, im ashanmed to be a Miner fan, and I been a Miner fan since the days of Pat Heggarty, John Harvey, Ricky Lopez, Reggie Barrett, im not a jump on the badwagon fan!!!!!!!!!!!! This team is goingn backwards, it pisses me off, that Houston is enjoying all this success, every team in Conference USA,has gotten better, except us!!!!!!! We are the laughting stock of the conference, Mike Price should be gone after this season! In the beggining, we were right up there w houston, tulsa, as the top of cusa, now will be lucky to beat smu and rice!

You know it starts at the top. I say Natalicio has to go as well, UTEP needs fresh blood in the top leadership position. Some people might say that Football should not be what a school is known for, but it's a generally accepted idea that the good PR that comes from a wining progam has a positive effect on the rest of the university. Case in point, U of H. The president is young, ambitious, smart, and is poised to take the school to tier I status while also improving overall morale, self esteem, or whatever you want to call it by investing in the football program.
