I-10 construction between Redd & Mesa
Repairs will be made on an I-10 arroyo bridge starting this Sunday. They've spent a few weeks making a temporary detour road so I expect this construction will take awhile. The photos below show the detour road on the right - looking north to Thorn. Looks like it won't really affect traffic speeds except during rush hour. The northbound Mesa on ramp will also be closed.

Great point thanks for sharing. On the other note I'm coming from Mesa going south on I-10 to Ft. Bliss and traffic is very bad between Mesa and Sunland Park Dr. in the hours of 07:30 and 8:00. It takes me 10 min. to Sunland Park dr. and another 15 min to Ft. Bliss. But it only took me 5 min. going down N. Mesa to Downtown and another 10 min. to Ft. Bliss.
I think the city needs to put some red/green traffic lights at the highway entrance like they have it in Seattle, NY, Memphis, San Antonio etc. to cut down on backup.
Is there a reason for the backup? To many cars? or is there construction somewhere?
Thanks,

Reason there is buildup on the ramps is because people don't understand how to merge and somebody always comes to a complete stop. that stretch of road is bad and so is exiting Rojas from 375 going towards I-10 W....will people ever learn to yield?
It looks like they are replacing the entire bridge there at the arroyo

Maybe they need some more freeway exits in that area, like at Thorn, and Helen of Troy.

I mean, with the development going on on the west side, they'd probably want to increase the capacity of that section of I-10, its bridges and everything.

Thorn already had it's own off/on ramps to I-10, but they were removed for some odd reason when they reconstructed the Redd Road/I-10 intersection...

If they ever want to build another interchange on I-10 at Thorn, it probably wouldn't cost as much as building one from scratch.
