Default Language Opportunities in ELP?

I'm looking into moving to ELP due to health reasons (my arthritis requires I move to a drier climate). My wife is originally from San Eli, and we are now living in Dallas. But like I said I need to move to a drier climate.

My main question is, if we do decide to move there, are there any opportunities for teaching languages? I am self-employed language consultant / teacher for 25 years. Teaching English to Spanish speakers is also one of my trades. Would there be a need for this profession as a private tutor, and will it be enough to support my family? Or will I need to find another type of work?

Thanks in advance for your help. I'll be coming back for any other questions I may think up.

Before it became unsafe to go to Juarez, I noticed in Juarez a few schools set up to teach english. I havent seen any in EP. I dont think there is a big demand. Maybe you could try teaching Spanish at FT Bliss. I dont know if there is a demand there. Might look for another career and there arent many here that pay well.

I agree with luplor, probably the reverse -- teaching Spanish to English speakers would be much more in demand.

Cool, thanks for the info. Maybe I can teach Spanish part time and have another part-time job on the side.
