lack of entertainment, dissapointed with the city,[downtown slow redevelopment] i want my kids to experience new things, see new places, the city seems stagnant, stuck in a rut, im getting older and i dont want to get complacent, im too comfortable in my job, and i want to take on new challenges!

A lot of people are suggesting cities that might be somewhat similar to ELP, but have you considered living on either coast? Do you prefer an urban environment?

Don't be afraid of change; change usually implies progress, and if things don't work out, you can try another city, or come back here.

My sister moved to San Diego and it's very very very nice, but unless you are independently wealthy do not go live there. I would go for San Antonio personally, but give bigger cities a chance. I moved to Houston area and love it here now, lot's to do and see and cities like Dallas, Austin, San Antonio close by for weekend trips.

Kudos to you, Levow, for thinking of giving your kids opportunities you may not have been offered at their age, or just for broadening their view of the world outside of El Paso. Really, I am not bashing El Paso, we all know El Paso is what it is.

Family is great, and I recall from your posts how important it is to you, but the truth is that once you have your own family, your own children, that is where your commitment, and concern ought to lie. It may sound cold and heartless, but your own family even comes before your existing family, including your parents.

This is how life begins, how it is intended. As a new life enters, the old begin to die, but not for naught... our purpose then becomes to devote our time, resources and energy to see our children succeed into adulthood... as they will do, and their children will do, etc.

I'm not saying El Paso can't offer these things, but as you noted, there are more opportunities out of El Paso, sorry to say.

What aspects of El Paso would you like to replicate? What about it don't you like?

We moved from El Paso to Houston and loved the move. It still had enough of the stuff we liked with a lot less of the wheel spinning, nothing going on attitude.

SA is cool too, but it depends where you live because the traffic can ruin your happiness there.

What other cities are options for you to xfer to?

Different would be a better word to use. Not every town offers more opportunities but a lot of towns might offer different ones.
