Well my income grew by quite a bit this year, thank God! But there are still many people out there unemployed, or severely underpaid. We need to worry about those people more than some of us who are lucky to have jobs.

Although, I do gotta say its nice to see El Paso's workforce getting paid better than ever before. With El Paso's booming Ft. Bliss growth and huge growth in the medical and educational sectors.. hopefully it will get even better.

Well -- maybe because when minimum wage goes up, those earning minimum wage see their incomes go up and we have a lot of minimum wage here.

Actually I think those that are poor and have no education are staying poor, and those that have higher wages are getting paid even more these days. It's happening everywhere in the U.S.. not just in El Paso. The studies coming out now are showing that people that have a degree or at least some higher education are making a better living here in El Paso. Of course that's not true for everyone out there with a degree, but a good number of them are living better these days than they were just a few years ago. The evidence is right there in this article.

So kids, stay in school! It will pay in the long run!
