Default We need a hispanic mayor who represents the majority!

WE ARE A HISPANIC MAJORITY, WHY HAVE A MAYOR WHO DOES NOT CARE?

EVEN HIS CLOSEST POLITICAL ALLIES ARE NOT HISPANIC, AND HE IS EVEN NAMING ALL STREETS WITH NAMES NOBODY KNOWS!

How about a mayor who represents EL PASO and ALL Of ITS RESIDENTS, regardless of race, ethnicity, and culture...not just the majority who live here? El Paso is more than just the majority.

I recall LULAC tried to call out Joyce Wilson for not having enough of "the majority" and it turns out she has representation from many different cultures and backgrounds.

Please leave your El Paso for "the majority" at your own front door.

The city manager and her crooks are all indifferent to the majority and we do need a hispanic mayor to represent us all because i do not see a mixed racial background in this city government!

ISN'T A CITY MANAGER SUPPOSED TO TAKE CARE OF THE CITY???

WHAT ABOUT STREET LIGHTS??? AT NIGHT IT'S THE DARKEST CITY IN THE U.S.
WHAT ABOUT POTHOLES ALL OVER THE CITY ???

WHAT ABOUT TRASH ALL OVER ON CITY PROPERTY????
WHAT ABOUT WEEDS ON CITY PROPERTY ALL OVER THE CITY???

The vote should be based on qualifications, knownledge, experience, wisdom and common sense NOT race or party.

I dont think the current administration doesnt care, it is just plain inept.

By the way, I am also a Hispanic

El Paso has had many Hispanic mayors. El Paso hasn't suddenly gone down hill because the current mayor is Anglo. Voting for any politician just because their race is just asking for trouble.

I'll settle for a Mayor who represents El Paso. While many disagree, El Paso is many things. Not everyone is 100% Hispanic. Heritage and language are important but we are not all the same. Just do a good job taking care of El Paso.

I'm Hispanic, and I could care less about the race of our Mayor. It all depends on how good the mayor is for El Paso, regardless of Race.

I actually like Mayor Cook a lot more than some of our previous Hispanic mayors that hardly did anything good or proactive for this city.

Your rant:

Will work in just about any other city out there as well. You can copy and paste this on almost any other city forum on these boards and you will get people who agree with you..

I thought there was an ordinance to reduce light pollution. El Paso appeals to many amature astronomers because of this. I know of 16 amatures that come to El Paso from Nevada to watch the leonid meteor showers. El Paso is dry and normally has beautiful night skies perfect for stargazing.

I guess not everyone agrees.

We dont need a hispanic mayor. we need a mayor that s qualified and good, i dont care about race.
Just because Hispanics are the majority in this city doesnt mean we need a hispanic mayor. That kind of thinking is what gets El Paso nowhere and is why I moved out.

We need some fresh thinking but I highly doubt the OP represents the El Paso point of view.
