Yes. It has its own charm doesn't it? Actually, its all those people in those homes and cars and on the street that make El Paso a liveable city. I also think our air quality is generally better than what is depicted. However, it may not last if the copper smelter re-opens!

LOL...I could take just two snapshots of ANY city in america that is old and blighted and say ''Gee is this what most of your city looks like, it looks depressing''. Sorry not plush and green like columbus ohio where your from but its called a DESERT here in the southwest. You know like Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona and Blythe and Needles, California and Albuquerque and Las Cruces, New Mexico and Midland/Odessa/Ft.Stockton, Texas.......yeap a desert !

Of course ar least we are not covered for 6 months out of the year with a ''white blanket'' of snow like in the midwest say oh..........columbus. ohio for example as that would be DEPRESSING. But then again there is no old areas or urban blight in Columbus so i envy ya.......

Wow, where'd you dig those pics up? Those aren't exactly the most scenic areas we have in el paso. But a good chuckle, thanks.

True. Although I don't live in El Paso or have never been, those have to be the two ugliest pictures of El Paso that I have ever seen. These would probably be more appropriate:

I don't have any pictures to upload but what about UTEP and the Sun Bowl/Durham Center or Las Palmas Sopping Center or Cielo Vista mall or Franklin, Montwood, El Dorado, Americas, Hanks, Chapin high schools are beautiful or for freeways how about the NEW Loop 375 eastern portion that just opened up or the new 5 star Butterfield Trail Golf and Resort or from the Tram going to the top of the Franklin Mountains or all the Palm trees etc...etc...

Sorry, but El Paso is ugly in many respects. Nature wise, the Franklin Mountains to me are beautiful but ya gots to like the desert. Many people see no charm in deserts. But our infrastructure is very ugly. Malls are not beautiful at all to me but if you want to see beautiful malls go to Newport Beach, California. One could say those are beautiful. We have mostly ugly parkways and public areas as there is no incentive to keep them nice and most people here cannot affort to even keeps their yards nice. We cut down a huge amount of trees in the older neighborhoods of the NE in the 60's and now there is this push to plant trees again. Too bad we lost the nice ones. Also, do you not notice all the front yards that are cement. Like I said, this is a liveable city because it does have great people. But, we need to start making changes that create a more pleasant ambiance. We need to have zoning restrictions. Otherwise, We will just keep building new strip malls and when they become eyesores we will build another one that is new and then...you get the point. It creates urban blight. I have been to almost every major city in America and this is close to the ugliest one I have ever seen. But, I see in my mind what it could be...
