The front-runner for the Republican nomination in the Colorado governor’s race is causing a stir with claims that his likely Democratic opponent, Mayor John Hickenlooper of Denver, is bringing the city under United Nations control by promoting bike riding and other sustainability measures.

“This is all very well-disguised, but it will be exposed,” Dan Maes, a Tea Party favorite, told supporters at a recent campaign rally, according to The Denver Post.

When we think that Republicans can't get any more dumber we are astonished to see that they know no bounds for making themselves out to be total fools and the laughingstock of the nation.

Tom Tancredo has entered the race as an Independent and it has elicited fears that Tancredo will take some of the vote away from the GOP, so I guess Maes s trying to make sure the crazies stay on board instead of jumping ship to Tancredo.

Says the person who is so blinded by getting illegals out of this country he can't understand why SB1070 is completely unconstitutional.

The Colorado Governor's race has been fun to watch.

The previous Democratic governor, Bill Ritter, had become so unpopular he didn't even run for a second term. VERY popular Denver mayor John Hickenlooper was drafted in the hope of saving the seat for the Dems... but it was hardly a slam dunk.

Until the Republicans got started.

At this point, between plagiarism, paranoid tea-party wackiness, and the ability of Tancredo to siphon of GOP votes, Hickenlooper hardly has to even campaign.

I think Hickenlooper could make it w/o help from a Repub. fracturing third party candidate. Maes is a nutter, McInnis is a crook. Tancredo, the third party candidate, is even more of a nutter.
