I'm sorry I was incorrect, as of this morning McCain had spent $22 million to win the primary.

No. Hayworth was a former sportscaster ran for Congress and won in 1994 to AZ-6, which was renumbered AZ-5 after the 2000 census. He was quite outspoken as well as very conservative. Hayworth was also closely tied to Jack Abramoff, and those ties wound up costing him the seat when the Abramoff scandal broke as he lost to Democrat Harvey Mitchell in 2006. He became a conservative radio talk show host after losing his congressional seat.

I would generally agree and I'm sure as hell not a fan of McCain (especially the McCain of the last few years) but I don't think you can chalk this up to voter stupidity. Look at who is main opponent was in the Primary.... JD Hayworth a former six term Congressman who was booted out of office in 2006 because of his ties to Jack Abramoff.

I really don't think McCain won this because of anything he did, but rather because his main opponent was a corrupt Abramoff sock puppet when he was in Congress.

so what. the whole idea of 2010 was supposedly get the incumbent out.

look at the primary results. every incumbent is winning.

its plain stupidity from the voters. they go crazy at the town halls and talk like they have balls, but in the end are cowards.

McCain2010, the John McCain adamantly opposed to the John McCain-Ted Kennedy immigration reform bill co-sponsored by McCain2005.

He's against it after he was for it.

Kinda mavericky in a weird anti-maverick sorta way...

McCain is a sellout. This thread title sums it up...he's more worried about being a hero to the Republican Party, than being a hero to the Arizona People.

He's better than Hayworth though. That's like saying vomit is better than runny stools.
