I think the polls, at this point in time (only 6 weeks from election) are now showing a trend that can be taken somewhat seriously, but I also agree, they are set up to give certain results. This makes them slanted..Any poll that shows a candidate up or behind by double digits, I would take seriously, any that show less I would not put much faith in.

I do agree that Double digits leads can be taken seriously, but in those two man races where neither candidate has over 50%, those leave too much room for a surprise.
