Until the immigration reform debate I had never heard of Senator Tom Tancredo. I have been to his website, so I have his point of view on himself, but I'm wanting other points of view. How serious of a contender is he for President and why/why not?

Chele, come on, you've been active in the immigration forum and i'm 100% you've known who he was for at least a year now.

Anyways, we like him....has a hot issue that needs to be seen by the masses and he's running, knowing he won't win, but he's running because it's a chance to bring the immigration issue to a national audience. He has good points, but I don't see him even getting more than 5% of the vote.

Actually Tom is in the House not the Senate. I agree, a President Tancredo would certainly secure our border and enforce our internal labor laws.

Unfortunately he doesn't have much of a chance to get the republican nomination, and an even smaller chance of winning the general election. The more republican candidates that we have that take a hard line on illegal aliens the better chance we have of ending up with someone who will uphold and enforce the law.

He is serious to the point of getting attention about immigration issues. Id o not see him as really running, however.

He has many supports and many enemies, but from years ago, he was saying that he is running for the office to get attention. Now, this may changed and he may be serious and being seriously running for president.

He's not the only candidate running on the immigration issue, so I was wondering if there was more to him than meets the eye, or immigration is the only thing he has right?

There are certain candidates in every race whose sole purpose is to push or pull the frontrunners. He's a pusher. Just like Kucinich.

Immigration is the main focus for him. This is what he would spend 90% of the time talking about.
