There's this, which is good news for all those not into Brewer's style of fascism:

Quote:
A new Rocky Mountain Poll released today indicated that Jan Brewer's lead over Terry Goddard has narrowed to only 3 points among all voters, though her lead among likely voters is still a healthy 11 points.

The poll from Behavior Research Center suggested that 38 percent of voters prefer Brewer, 35 percent prefer Goddard, 3 percent prefer Green candidate Larry Gist, and 3 percent prefer Libertarian Barry Hess.

-------

The poll is good news for Goddard, who gained 10 points in the survey between July and October. Brewer lost 7 points during that time as Goddard's campaign began earnest.

And then there are rumors about Brewer's health:

Quote:
Indeed it seemed that Gov. Brewer was in the throes of -- you call it: prescription drug abuse brain dysfunction, drunk, early stages of senile dementia, or she had suddenly been afflicted by a mini-stroke or seizure.

arizona is hardly a fascist state. in fact california is closer to being a facist state than arizona is. we actually believe in freedom here, and brewer is doing what needs to be done to secure the border, and rid the state of ILLEGAL aliens. we have ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUE with those that are here legally, in fact we welcome them as they are a productive group in the state. silly arizonans wanting law and order, and freedom, and things like that. terry goddard would be like having janet napolitano back and we DONT want that. we have had too many liberals running things over the past few years, and it is costing us big time.

So why are AZ's drug laws so harsh, then?

Why doesn't AZ allow gay marriage and why isn't it better on gay rights? After all, the late AZ Senator Goldwater was the best friend gays had in the Senate.

Why does CA tax just about everything it sees? After all, the former CA governor was the best friend a deficit ever had in the state.
Fixed it for ya.

Fair enough. If another state made it legal and I found it comparable to AZ in terms of employment and living standard, they'd make the cut for me. I'm not so sure I'd want a significant portion of the state's budget to be used to fight a futile "war on drugs".

It's too bad that since the fedgov has decreed a tax advantage for married people, states cannot deny marriage. Overturn that advantage, then you can play your social democracy game.

I wouldn't hold my breath on a Brewer defeat in Arizona.
Too many old, white conservatives in that state.
But on the bright side......no one lives forever.
