What do leftwing posters mean when they call "Tea Party" identifiers as "Teabaggers"?

Is this meant to be derogatory?

Are they trying to twist things?

Cetain words used to describe certain groups of Americans are no longer acceptable. You know which words I mean.

Should a term like "Teabaggers" be used here ( with a certain meaning, and intended to be hurtful ) in fair discourse, if it is not allowed in reference to other groups?

I think it's been discussed to death here and even closed as a beating dead horse issue. Search the forum one up.

OK

Should Democrats be more Stand Up People and stop jerking around with being small, and using crap tactics, and maybe addressing issues?

Calling names is bullshnit.

Noone in America likes the Dems policies, except those who stand to get something for FREE.

How many Democratic Incumbents are standing on Obama's healthcare law?

Let them stand up to the American people, and say with a straight face, without calling someone a "Teabagger", that they agree with the Obama/Pelosi/Reid spending spree.

Yes it is a sophomoric term, you can almost hear the simpletons laughing as they type it. You frequently find the rocket scientists who do this also cannot spell FOX as in FOX news. Some dope wll chime in and claim the tea partiers embrace the name, they don't.

Of course it is, but we don't really care. Their attempts to smear and lie about the TP have failed, miserably.

Let them think the are making a difference.

Even our Socialist President uses the word "Teabagger".

He is an idiot. Joe Biden? Well, he just let's himself get pulled around.

Hillary. She is a Progressive.

Look,

Janeane Garofalo might have thought that using a gay phrase -- "Teabaggers" would help her cause against Conservatives.

Janeane is wrong. Her attitude just makes the fiscally responsibe stronger.

While she continues to say that Republicans are against homosexual relationships, the rest of America just keeps saying ...... stop the spending.

Janeane is dumb. Those on her side don't know what this election is about.

The 'liberal' use of the word is disgustingly juvenile, sophomoric and uncouth.

It's contended by many posters here and other places that 'they' named themselves.

More sophomoric uncouth reasoning.

As for the real meaning - those who are 'in the know' regarding their pet term have absolutely no nerve to say what the term means to them publicly.

To do so would only confirm and cement the above observations of their character.

If Liberals want to be taken seriously -- they need to stop childish name calling. They need to understand that if gays can't be called "certain names" in the Lib insistance of Political Correctness -- then -- the same respect must be paid.

Trash can be thrown on policy. But, using slurs makes the Democratic base look even dumber than usual.

Hmmm. Elites looking stupid. Go figure.

Why is teabagging a derogatory action/term unless you hate gays or oppose the act of teabagging? That's why the Teabaggers are now backing away from their beloved namesake.

I saw a pretty funny sign from a Tea Party rally. It was held by a teenager with a huge grin on his face. His heart was in the right place. But some humor was added.

"Teabag the Federal government, before it teabags you!!" I thought it was pretty funny and kind of turning around the use derogatory name.
