Sorry, Hun you may have to look to Clinton for that one. And the banks, for the most part, have paid back (with interest) the money they got from TARP. not so much...GM.

So whose intellegence level shall we question?

I have read COMMITTEE FAQs, question #4. How are the members of the standing committees selected?
I have asked friends, that answered that the Speaker of the House has final say.
Others have answered that seniority is the primary say.
We've all heard about Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, sub-prime mortgages, foreclosures, bank bailouts,
union bailouts, economic meltdown, jobs and unemployment.
And the name that comes to mind every-time is Barney Frank, Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee.
Do "We the People" have any say, as to whether to allow or disallow someone's assignment to a particular committee?

It doesn't appear from the info in your link that we do. I'm sure whatever committee he is on, he will be a New Obstructionist.

I hope voters have seen their option as I have, which is to contact their party leaders, Congressman John Boehner, and such to give their view on this. I think Barneys knowledge in this committee is a hindrance instead of helpful.
Thus far he has escaped scrutiny from the investigation with Rep. Maxine Waters.
New Obstructionist, I agree, but at least (hopefully) we can get him off of this committee where he is killing our economy.

Anyone who said yes, is clearly a liberal jerk who supports and approves liberal corruption. Shame on yourselves. YOU are what's wrong with this country, along with the fools who continue to elect Frank, Pelosi, Boxer, etc no matter how twisted, evil, and corrupt they are. My God, what is wrong with people!?

This is the funniest post I've read in months. Thanks. I needed a chuckle! Excuse me while I go out and do something evil like help the needy or feed the hungry.

Seems like keeping him on the committee would be the hottest seat from which he would soon need to do some 'splaining.

I think Barney Frank will open up another male brothel in his D.C. apartment. I guess anything goes in D.C. and Massachsuetts because no one cared the first time.

I`m sure it was unintentional, but what you`ve posted would arouse old mushmouth`s amorous proclivities.

Actually, he didn't run it. He was friends with a male escort who entertained other men in Frank's apartment while he was out of town. If you really knew the story, you'd learn that Congressman Frank was the one who asked the Ethics Committee to investigate the rumors about him. (Funny, I lived in the same building as Frank in 1969 and all he ever did was read.) I think Ted Stevens committed a more serious violation when he stole money from the people of Alaska.

I guess the reason we (I wrote "we" because I'm originally from MA) keep voting for Mr. Frank is because he does his job. People around the nation didn't like Ted Kennedy either, but he was a very good Senator and served the people of MA well. Isn't that what counts? Maybe not, if you thought $5.15 an hour was a great hourly wage. Maybe not, if you don't care about civil rights, education or cancer research.
