Today in the L.A. Times,in an article entitled "Palin says she would make the sacrificies necessary to run for president":

But while acknowledging she was enjoying private life, the former governor hastened to clarify that she would be happy to step back into public life.
"You know, the country is worth it, though, to make those sacrifices, when we talk about making money today, having a lot of fun today, having all this freedom," she said. "If the country needed me — and I'm not saying that the country does and that the country would ever necessarily want to choose me over anyone else, but I would be willing to make the sacrifices if need be for America."

From the moment this crazed menace WALKED AWAY from her elected duties in Alaska, is there anyone alive who didn't KNOW she intended to run for president in 2012?

You mean how the crazed obama spend most of his senate term running for president?? You know what? If she runs and I don't think she will, she'd kick his ass back to Hawaii.

GS- I have to wholeheartedly disagree. I think the one and only thing that can guarantee a 2nd Obama term is Palin at the top of the GOP ticket.

At this point I'm hittign my knees to skill. Here's hoping its Clinton v Kasich in 2012 (and yeah- I know it won't happen.) Bring back the grown-ups.

My family has been part of this country since long before it was a country and even fought for our freedom iin the revolution. I was left to raise my children alone thanks to the Viet Nam war and I have a daughter who is a Sgt. Major in the Army right now. I love my country dearly. But if the ignorance of the citizenry has grown to such an extent that this silly, foolish woman were to be elected president, I would sadly give up and leave. I am an old woman and I have had to watch my beloved country sold off to the highest bidder through the corruption of the lobbyist buying and selling our elected officials. To have to watch it finally collapse under the weight of both corruption and ignorance is more than I could bear.

God help us...if she won the primary she would definitely, as said before, guarantee four more years of Obama.

I'll set myself out on a block of sea ice and float around the Arctic until 2016 if that happens.

she has said this for months now in so many words. In almsot every interview she has said, if she is called on to run and the people really want her, yes, she will consider it. At least she isn't playing the sly fox role. I still don't think she will run and she will not the nomination if she does. This is just my feeling. I could be dead wrong.

This statement is no different than the ones she has made for months. A bit of an over reaction by the OP don't you think? Why not just wait for a formal announcement?

Personally, I hope the GOP chooses one of the "Young Guns". Palin needs to take Steele's position as head of the GOP for fundraising and candidate recruitment as that has proven to be her real strength, IMO.

Seems like the country has always been silly to an extent when choosing leaders. How else can anyone explain giving FDR 4 terms to entrench Socialism.

After Bush was elected for his second term I recall many prominent people, including Michael Moore, Robert Redford, and others promising that they would leave. I'm still waiting. I suspect yours is similar bravado. However, now would be a good time to leave so you can run and get that rationed elder-care as Europe offers. I suspect the deaths due to dehydration are more painful in British hospitals than they are letting on. Are you certain that is what you really want? Or are you just playing the poor old me card?

I appreciate your daughter's service. She must have more faith in her country than her mother. It would be interesting to see how you rationalize your appreciation for her putting her life on the line by leaving the country she defends.
