I am a Democrat and I'm not cranky at all. Why should I care about the results nationwide since I didn't vote for 99% of these people? This seems to happen quite often during a president's first term. I will say that the next two years and the 2012 election will be quite interesting. I will say this: I don't think it's wise politically to try and un-do everything that has been passed the last two years.

I said the left would become unhinged after this election. They're proving it here on C-D on on TV that they've gone over the edge. It's tough when the grown-ups tell them it's time for bed.

OMG...How can you have a discussion with someone who doesn't understand that the Dem. had the majority and didn't need the GOP votes and btw didn't try to be bipartisan at any time and now got punished BY THE PEOPLE!

No point of talking to unreasonable people....

I like to have a health discussion and we don't need to agree but be REASONABLE!
Maybe you can ask them to look at a national map of the congrssional districts. Look at how many red districts there are compared to blue. it is astonishing
Once they see this, your liberal friend will either move to the NE, NW, or they will realize that they are in the minority

^^How funny! A RW started this thread and several people from both "sides" have said they have no problem having a "decent discussion" with someone who disagrees with them.

Most of us here aren't interested in having civil discussions with the other side. I used to be, but I then realized that it's mostly a waste of time to try.

It's amusing to hear certain right-wingers say things like this, especially when they spend most of the time insulting those who disagree with them.

I think the OP is right. Any time anyone tries to disagree with what the left has to say, they are accused of being "ignorant" or "wingnuts".

I, personally, do not want this healthcare. "Children", age 21-26 need to fend for themselves like the rest of us had to do. If they are in school, they are taken care of at school. No one covered me for healthcare and it was fine. I had some doctor bills here and there, but paid them as I could and moved on. I guess I'm with the other 85% of people that do NOT want Obamacare.

With the statement I just made, I am not getting obnoxious or belligerent at the Dems, but will be accused of "knuckle dragging" or my favorite "racist", simply because I do not agree with their policies.

People keep going back to the war, etc. It's not the war that anyone really cares about, it's the economy. I don't see a fix in sight unless someone does something to create jobs.
Another bailout won't do that. The first one didn't, this one won't either. You can't just throw money at a problem and have it solve itself.

People need to get over their right and left fixations and start voting for those they agree with most, and then get out of the sandbox and quit throwing things at the others that may want to play differently.

Before the Presidnetial election, I tried to speak with my friends about why I was not voting for Obama and what I felt he would do to this country, but they did not want to hear.

I have been able to have some decent conversations before the recent election, as most were displeased with Obammy by then. Now, most of my leftie friends are very mad and bitter about the current mid-term elections and all they can say is they expect Republicans to do something fast about fixing the mess.....the mess they still deny was Obammies fault.

Now I just make sure not to talk politics with my friends from the other side. We can find other things to talk about!
