He served as a NJ US District Attorney from 2002-2008. (That's 6 years public office to O's less than one year as a state senator).
You are wrong. The president was a state senator from 1997 to 2004. He was a US senator 2004-2008.

The president was a lecturer at what is considered the best law school in the nation from 1992 to 2004. Few lawyers in the country could achieve that.

Oh for heavens sake, give me a break: he was a lecturer, big F deal, so he is a great speaker, that has nothing to do with being a leader or knowing how our country is run or should be. As a US senator, he spent most of his time running and campaigning for the Presidency. Sorry, he entered the White House totally unprepared.

Actually, he refused an offer to be a tenure track professor. Most lawyers can tell you what a rare and honored thing it is to be a professor at a national law school. It does not go to the dull or ignorant.
