You are wrong. The president was a state senator from 1997 to 2004. He was a US senator 2004-2008.

Sorry, I just have no respect for this president and think he got in waaaay over his head.
He is more concerned about his own celebrity than anything else.

Oh for heavens sake, give me a break: he was a lecturer, big F deal, so he is a great speaker, that has nothing to do with being a leader or knowing how our country is run or should be. As a US senator, he spent most of his time running and campaigning for the Presidency. Sorry, he entered the White House totally unprepared.

Actually, he refused an offer to be a tenure track professor. Most lawyers can tell you what a rare and honored thing it is to be a professor at a national law school. It does not go to the dull or ignorant.
