"An exclusive Newsmax/IBOPE Zogby International poll shows New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie so dominates the GOP field for 2012 that he garners more than twice as many votes as his nearest Republican competitor. The new poll reflects growing momentum for Christie, despite his repeated insistence that he’s not ready to be president and has no intention of running."
The article goes on to say that he will have to be drafted and that people like him because he's real and has demonstrated what he can do. He's the un-Obama.
It also says the recent Gallup poll did not offer Chris Christie as an option.
As much as I really like him and his ideas, I am afraid people would shy away, being afraid they will get the same as 2008, not enough experience, so one mistake on top of another. I do think 2016 would be perfect timing, depending on what happens next year.
no surveys are really, not at this stage of the game.

Things can easily change so anything this far out is obviously just a snap shot of how things are now and doesn't mean that is where they will be when the time comes. Even taking that into consideration online polls are less accurate than traditional polling methods and the track records of Zogby and others when they have done these online polls back that up.
I do agree that he would be a better candidate for the GOP in 2016 than he would next year.

If a Republican is elected in 2012, Chris Christie won't be able to run in 2016 because the Republican President will be the incumbent and not likely be challenged and if the 2012 Republican president stinks no Republican will be elected president in 2016. I believe each person has a small window of opportunity and with Christie that time is now. He just needs to pair up with some politician that is good on foreign affairs as his running mate.
Pubs have FAILED to portray this president as a failure. You rode in after your utter failures under Bush over two terms, done your best to obstruct, offered no solutions to help, engaged overtime in deceptive marketing, and perpetuated a negative and wholly incorrect narrative of every move Obama makes....and you have failed. Focusing on meaningless representatives for the next election that you're sure to lose doesn't change this reality. 2012 goes to Obama. If you don't get your act together, 2016 goes to a Democrat, 2020 goes to the same Democrat. Your next chance won't be until 2024! This will be great for the country and the makeup of the Supreme Court!
Christie is a non-factor...and don't you forget it either.

Considering he has only been Governor for a year and hasn't served elected office prior to becoming Governor, it is a bit too early for him. Not to mention, I don't think many in the base know his views on Guns and Gun Control, and that probably wouldn't go over with the GOP Primary voters all that well.
