"Rick Perry really has a compelling story, because at the end of the day, the U.S. economy is not going to improve, and his record as Texas governor is basically among the best in the nation among chief executives," Republican strategist Ford O'Connell told RCP. "The key for Perry, if he should enter the race, is not to be a flamethrower but more of a refined candidate who demonstrates message discipline."

So just pretend he's something he's not, eh? Too bad there is video evidence that he'd like to break up the union.

Google Perry +secession and you'll find plenty of clips of him discussing that Texas may begin to consider exercising its supposed right of secession if it continues to be outvoted by the rest of the Republic through our legal, democratic processes. This is exactly how people began to talk in South Carolina in the early 1840s. Leave it to the current GOP to turn toward someone who is flirting with that kind of talk to nominate as president.. and why? Because he's one of the more "moderate" choices in that party of extremists.

I won't be googling anything about Perry and secession. I'm in Texas and have been most my life. And voted for Nixon from here. Texans aren't going to secede, and Perry isn't going to take them there.
