When you want to search for a progressive place..the key is to look at what makes a City or State regressive.

Regression means to go back to the caves, or a time when fear ruled the world.

Fear is exactly what churches use to drive up the weight of collection baskets. Listen to what is preached so often...are they not frequently saying you need to be afraid?

To a degree all churches do this, and unfortunately when preachers have a poor flock they try the hardest to make them the most afraid.

To get an idea this is true, venture in to a very posh neighborhood and attend a service. They will focus mainly on God's love and compassion.
In a poor neighborhood it will be about protecting yourself and family from the ways of the devil.

The States with the least number of poor churches that depend upon a poor flock for support will be your most progressive. The States where the church either has a giant thirst for cash, or the poorest churches will be the most regressive.

One State stands way out among others. That State is Hawaii. Hawaii is wealthy. Big wealth was concentrated for many years in only a few families. These families supported the churches and there was no need to pound fear into the flock. All the preacher had to do was not upset the wealthy families and go collect a check when a church needed a new roof.

Two of Hawaii's families had what some may call "progressive" children. These two families held far more wealth than the Rockefeller or Carnegie on a percentage basis. When you walk the beaches of Waikiki..look at all the hotels...they sit on their property...the University of Hawaii is on their property, they founded banks and airlines, they owned the largest tracks of lands in the state and employed thousands of workers.

Now when you are preaching and you know where your meal ticket is, you don't slam two powerful families for having "progressive" children. The issues that others focus upon in other States simply become topics we don't talk about in Hawaii. Instead we have this cool thing called Aloha and Ohana means family.

Does anyone reading this have any idea why Obama is President? It isn't because the US is now more progressive. It is because a certain person named Linda Lingle.

Linda Lingle is the main reason Obama is now President.

Rather it is regressive States in the US that could never have accepted the fact that an extremely capable, woman like Linda Lingle, could run on the Republican ticket.

Linda Lingle was a by far better choice for a female Republican Governor to pick as a running mate to seek the White House. Instead, another female Governor was selected.

Obama would have lost if Lingle was on the ticket against him.

Well, that is if the mainland US wasn't such a regressive place. The mainland US could never have accepted Lingle as a Vice President, yet the people of Hawaii voted for her and she did a good job for Hawaii.

We don't even think in the back of our minds the type of things that get splashed on page one and bold headlines on the mainland.

Default Please get off your computer

This has to be one of the most nonsensical posts I've ever read. Seriously, if you don't have anything better to do with your time, just get off the computer for a second.
