Fellow liberals, Democrats or others who will likely vote for Obama in 2012: if you had to vote for a GOP candidate (in the general) who would you go for? Just curious.

I don't consider myself a liberal but a moderate and I was way unimpressed with what went on last night.

So I voted "other"...I'm waiting on "other" to show up, talk about a real plan to fix the economy and create jobs and quit blathering on about religion, gays, abortion. Those issues always seem to come to the fore front with every election...how 'bout the government stay out of my bedroom, and away from my body and quit trying to tell me how to believe.

Given the choices you listed, I'd probably vote for Obama. If, by some miracle, the GOP candidate ended up being Jon Huntsman, I'd definitely vote for him.

I wouldn't vote for any of the GOP candidates, but the one who I would be least disappointed if they happen to win isn't on that list, Huntsmnan.

Is Huntsman going to run? The only thing I know about him is that he was an ambassador for Obama, so that will probably make him unacceptable to many conservatives.

I, too, will vote for Obama, but if I absolutely had to vote for a conservative this year, I think I would back Ron Paul. I agree with him on most social issues, and I would like to see us out of the Middle East immediately. I think his economic policies would be a disaster, but I'd rather back him than yet another corporatist candidate.

That said, I think he is entirely unelectabe. I bet he'd get less than 10 percent of the vote once all of his views were vetted for a general audience.

If those were my choices, I would vote for Romney.

Paul. By far. I'm on the "libertarian" left and supported Obama over McCain.

I am surprised. As a liberal, Ron Paul would be my last choice out of that group.
