Nothing this President can do can hide the fact that this country's ongoing economic difficulties from 2000 (bush) to now are a result of inept GOP participation.

Whatever emerges from the budget talks will yield the following result:
Anything GOOD -> President Obama
Anything BAD ---> Continued GOP incompetence and failure.

The Treasury cannot dole out money except by an act of congress. Y'all need to re-read the Constitution.

And the bills originate in the house not the senate.

Which lies squarely with repubs who control the house.

If Social Security checks stop it will be difficult to find a republican in office five years from now.

There you have it folks, the average mentality of the left wingers on this forum. No wonder it is fruitless to debate such zombies.

I don't understand how any one can say this is anything other than the total fault of the Republicans. A Republican adminstration, along with a Republican-lead Congress, ran up the deficeit for the past decade.

(Does anyone else remember the good, solid financial shape Bill Clinton left the nation in?)

Now, the Republicans in Congress are refusing to raise the debt ceiling to pay the tab they ran up. This will be a diaster for the Republican party. I swear, round and round we go ... it's 1996 all over again. Anyone else remember when the Republicans thought it would be a good idea to shut down the government in 1995?

This is going to cost the Republicans. Period. That the brain-dead radioheads don't see this baffles me. Not everyone is glued to Newscorp "news" sources. Some actually follow credible media and are capable of seeing what's going on here.
