More importantly how does Ron Paul get any of this through CONGRESS?

He has NO COALITION OF LIKE MINDED politicians in Congress to support his poliicies. Without congressional support Ron Paul is D.O.A.

He's never going to win the Republican nomination and he's never going to be President.

Throwing money at a problem doesn't solve anything. You need to get to the underlying cause. Just take a look at Education for example. You can home school a kid for $500 and give him a better education that he'd get in public school. Or, you could send him to public school where taxpayers pay $17k per student and some kids don't even know how to read or write by the time they graduate from high school.

The free market and capitalism works. The problem is government won't allow it to work. Government has a strangle hold over small and medium sized businesses. This is partly by design because the BIG businesses don't want any competition and hire lobbyists to go buy off members of congress so terrible bills will be passed that force small and medium sized businesses to have to jump through a million hoops while it is FREE SAILING for the BIG CORPORATIONS.

What we need to do to create jobs is repeal all the bills that restrict small business from doing business in any way...even to the point of requiring licensing. When you think about it. Licensing doesn't guarantee you will get professional results from anyone. All it is is a big racket to generate money in license fees for the government. Continuing education is the same thing. It shouldn't be mandatory. Ron Paul understands this.

Ron Paul has also said that there may be times when we should use civil disobedience and Aug 20 might be one of those times. Parents of kids whose Lemonade stands were shut down are calling out to everyone to let their kids have a lemonade stand on 8/20 to stand up to the government and their rediculous stance on lemonade stands.

Imagine things have gotten SO bad that kids need a permit to have a lemonade stand! It is getting to be a little much!

Default No to Ron Paul economy

This is the problem with Ron Paul. He can say what he would do, but he's NOT the President. He's not privy to the level of scope of information that only a President is privy to. This makes his sources far more inferior and less reliable that those of President Obama.

He also must go through Congress, which at the current moment is broken because of the GOP. Any bum on the street can sit on the sideline and say what he would do if he were POTUS.

Ron Paul is a racist, which renders any of his ideas, irrelevant. Not interested in a Ron Paul economy.

Where are you sending your kids that they are better off being home schooled?

Ron Paul is not right for America. He is better than most Republicans, though.

* Abolish the Welfare State – Taxpayers cannot continue to pay the high costs to sustain this powerful incentive for illegal immigration. As Milton Friedman famously said, you can’t have open borders and a welfare state.
* End Birthright Citizenship – As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be granted U.S. citizenship, we’ll never be able to control our immigration problem.
* Protect Lawful Immigrants – As President, Ron Paul will encourage legal immigration by streamlining the entry process without rewarding lawbreakers.
As long as our borders remain wide open, the security and safety of the American people are at stake.
As President, Ron Paul will address immigration by fighting for effective solutions that protect our nation, uphold the rule of law, and respect every American citizen’s civil liberties.

he'd never get elected because of the huge hispanic population already given citizenship in the name of garnering votes for this or that politician.

Hispanics don't vote, they're cynics thinking it's all rigged. There's still time to get him elected but not in 8 years - that would be too late.

* Legalizing sound money, so the government is forced to get serious about the dollar’s value.
* Ending the corporate stranglehold on the White House.
* Driving down gas prices by allowing offshore drilling, abolishing highway motor fuel taxes, increasing the mileage reimbursement rates, and offering tax credits to individuals and businesses for the use and production of natural gas vehicles.
* Eliminating the income, capital gains, and death taxes to ensure you keep more of your hard-earned money and are able to pass on your legacy to your family without government interference.
* Opposing all unfunded mandates and unnecessary regulations on small businesses and entrepreneurs.
These are just a few of the steps we can take to put America back in place as the world’s leading economy. Taking a stand for these principles has often been a lonely fight in Congress for Ron Paul, but, now more than ever, our nation needs a President who will champion sound money, responsible spending, lower taxes, and free market enterprise.

Don't get me wrong I'm a Ron Paul supporter, but honestly, if we got rid of all those taxes (and I am a "small Government" person, I want spending to go down about as much as anyone could want) where the hell are we going to get enough to make the government function properly??? Tarrifs? (not against that idea). What else? Would RP consider legalizing marijuana and taxing the hell out of it??

The forum's thoughts?

He wants to end the federal war on drugs, it would be up to the states. The feds wouldn't be spending the $$ on that. With his foreign policy, it would save the US a lot of money! We wouldn't be sending billions to other countries and there would be a huge cut to the military industrial complex. He would still have a good amount for the actual military since we need to be able to defend ourselves if necessary. He has said that his foreign policy savings would be used to shore up entitlement programs. Most of the other government agencies are way too big and have way too much power so of course they need to be shrunk. It all wouldn't happen over night, it would take time and of course he would have to go through congress for a lot of the stuff. There is a lot that he can do by himself though, like bringing troops home and getting rid of a lot of unconstitutional executive orders.
