But those weren't wars....you yourself stated what a 'war' is and neither fits.

Fish in a barrel....

The U.S. is not the lead force in this. NATO is assisting rebels. This is a military conflict. no war has been declared here by NATO or the U.S.

What is the other superpower the USA is in a Cold War with right now?

Never mind the ridiculous idea that it was all Al Qaeda (I'm sure AQ would try to take advantage of the situation but it is stupid to assume that they drove the who situation).
Who wrote it was ALL Al Qaeda?
You seem to make things up.

NATO is under direct command of a US Officer.

Al-Qaeda has its origins in the uprising against the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. Thousands of volunteers from around the Middle East came to Afghanistan as mujahideen, warriors fighting to defend fellow Muslims. In the mid-1980s, Osama bin Laden became the prime financier for an organization that recruited Muslims from mosques around the world. These "Afghan Arab" mujahideen, which numbered in the thousands, were crucial in defeating Soviet forces.

We weren't taking sides in a civil war.
