"Newly declared presidential candidate Rick Perry is now the undisputed GOP frontrunner, while Michele Bachmann’s star has started to fall, according to the latest Daily Caller/ConservativeHome national presidential primary tracking poll. Perry now leads the field in all five categories polled this month: first choice, most electable, second choice, best at dealing with the economy, and best at keeping Washington spending under control — often by a large margin."

"It’s worth noting that the demographics in this polling sample are different from what other polling outfits use. The group polled (the sample size reflects how many people in that group actually respond) over-represents politically engaged Republicans who have donated money to campaigns or volunteered for campaigns. Other polls generally sample likely Republican primary voters."

I don't know what that means since a donator or volunteer gets the same one vote as a regular primary voter who doesn't donate or volunteer.

Rick Perry Leads GOP Pack in New Gallup Poll - The Note

CNN/Gallup national poll (including independents) has Perry on top also.

Even given his incredible campaigning skills, that's quite a feat. Or it's a statement about how terrible the other GOP candidates are.

Look for Perry sitting back and riding this lead a bit, perhaps even skipping a debate or two. Easier to shoot fish in a barrel than jump in and swim with them.

Don't buy into these polls. They say what they want them to say.

and if your candidate was up front would you say the same thing? We all know polls, at this time don't mean a lot, but they do show an indication of how people are leaning and thinking.

I tend to agree with not putting a lot of faith in polls. This is interesing though. There was a poll just out yesterday that showed which GOP contenders would come closer to beating Obama and Romney was the only one that would have won with several of the others coming very close but still not beating him. The various polling seems to conflict in that way. Perry was tied with Obama in this poll.

Perry's homosexual flippant attitude will finish him off.

of course you realize this has to be proved and they have been trying for years, noting so far...This is like saying, as soon as they prove Obama wasn't born in America he will be out. He will probbly be out, but not for that reason.

you know no polls have than many participants, so don't hold your breath. Do remmber, these polls show very little at this time, but what Dixie said holds some meaning, until a few months ago it was though no one could beat Obama, expect maybe Romney, now the swing seems to be going the opposite direction.
