Perry Compared Homosexuality to Alcoholism in 2008 Book | Swampland

No wonder Perry's camp is steering people away from his books! This one was apparently all about the Boy Scouts Creed ().

In the book, Perry says being gay is kinda like being an alcoholic. Gays can't help being sodomites, but geez, they can restrain themselves, can't they?

Looking for clues at the scene of the crime, I can't help but wonder if this isn't more "Get thee behind me, Satan!" stuff?

George Bush confessed to having a drinking problem in his memoirs. Guess Perry hates him, too.

This should make for a very interesting election season with all these neocon wingnuts in the field. So much for "small" government, huh Perry?

I am gay and I can agree, gays do need to "restrain themselves"......but, straights need to learn the same thing. What someone does in their bedroom, living room, kitchen floor, backseat or random staircase or elevator, is NO ONES BUSINESS, and really doesn't need to be advertised.
People know I am gay, it isn't discussed, they just know....some things are obvious without having to ask, at the same time, when I introduce myself, I don't go up to them and say, "Hi my names Jake and I'm gay". Why should ANYONES sexuality be such a big deal. WHO CARES???

God Cares.

Rick Perry will care, too....because that cost him ANY CHANCE of being nominated.

I may not always agree with you on politics, probably never, but you are right about gay/straight. Why can't people (both sides) get over it?

To him, it's a choice because that is his experience of trying to fight off his own self loathing urges. Any person who is honestly heterosexual does not have a problem with gays. It does not bother them because they do not think about it. Obviously, Perry does not fall in this category.

By the time the primary season is over Rick Perry will insult everybody in America that isn't a White Christian Conservative male.
